Edwin H. "Ed" Sherman, Jr. 62, of St. Petersburg, FL, died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Edward White Hospital. He came here in 1952 from his native Tampa, FL and was a 1961 graduate of St. Petersburg High School, a 1970 graduate of St. Petersburg Jr. College, and a 1975 graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Computer Engineering. He was a computer technician with T-3 Technologies and was an Army veteran of Viet Nam. He was an avid international sailor and competitor and had won many trophies and awards including The Mallory Cup. He enjoyed teaching and mentoring others in sailing. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and attended Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Susan G.; two sons, Edward A. of Redmond, WA and Geoffrey H. of St. Petersburg; two brothers, Daniel N. of Plano, TX and Roy W. of Huntington Station, NY; and a sister, Edith E.
