Rev. Melbourne "Mel" Stadt, 94, of the Allegro At College Harbor St. Petersburg, FL, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 1, 2014. Rev. Stadt was born in Grand Rapids, MI and came here in 2002 from Union Grove, WI. He was a 1941 graduate of Moody Bible Institute with a Bachelors Degree in Divinity and pastored churches in Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois. He was a member of The Island Chapel in Tierra Verde. He is survived by his son, Jerry (Kay) Stadt of St. Petersburg; his daughter, Jeanne (Glen) Carroll of Homer, AK; brothers, Leon, Warren, Bern; sister, Marlene; grandchildren, Polly (Sean) Brooks, Wendell (Denise) Carroll, Weston (Stephanie) Carroll; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Eleanor Stadt. A memorial service will be 2 :00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Allegro At College Harbor 4600 - 54th Avenue South with Dr. Mike Wetzel officiating.
