Harold L. Straitwell, Jr., 74, of Palm Harbor, FL, died Friday, August 29, 2003 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, FL. He was born January 11, 1929 near Sewickley, Pennsylvania to Harold Leroy Straitwell, Sr. and Hazel Viola (Brown) Straitwell and moved to Palm Harbor in 2002 from Southgate, MI. After graduating from Union High School in New Castle, PA in 1946, he went to Youngstown College in Youngstown, Ohio. He worked at Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. in Ohio as a machinist and as a lubrication engineer, then at Great Lakes Steel Co. in Detroit, Michigan as a Chief Lubrication Engineer. At one time he sang in various choruses and groups. He was a Christian. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eileen, one daughter, Carla Ford of Palm Harbor, FL, three brothers, Donald of Houston, TX, William of Parrish, FL, James of Youngstown, OH, two sisters, Lois Thomas of Houston, TX, Elizabeth Turnbull of Youngstown, OH, four grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Daniel Straitwell and by his father and mother and a brother, Robert. $(document).ready(function(){ });
