Maxine Lavo Van Tornhout, 86, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed from her earthly existence Monday, November 24, 2003. She moved to St. Petersburg in 1950 from her native South Bend, IN. This is the lady who always wore red. She traveled extensively, was a proverbial story teller, and had published a personal family history. She had been a court referee for the State Of Florida Insurance Commissioner's Office, and later retired from the Department Of Motor Vehicles as an examiner. In retirement, she belonged to the St. Petersburg and the West Coast Doll Clubs. Much loved, she will be missed greatly by two daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Don Donatello and Michele and William Pearson; grandchildren, Sanja and Richard Hicks, Phillip and Patti Pearson; great grandchildren Meaghan, Christopher, Brittany, Ian, and Haley; three nieces and a nephew.
