Manfred J. "Mo," Wenzel, 80, St. Petersburg, Florida, died Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 at home. He was born in Altona, Germany and came here in 1949 from Homewood, IL. He was a Retired Vice President at Centerbanc, St. Petersburg, a 1949 Graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, IN, Past President of the Florida West Coast DePauw Alumni Association, Past President and Treasurer of the Science Center of Pinellas County, Past President of Boys Baseball Boosters, former Board Member of St. Petersburg Museum of History, former member of the Committee to Assist the Physically Impaired (CAPI), and volunteered at the Florida International Museum. He was an Army Veteran of WW II where he served in the European Theatre with the 12th Armored Division and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeannette Gahan Wenzel; two sons, Dr. Lawrence "Lorne" Wenzel of Orlando, David Pierce Wenzel of St. Petersburg; and three granddaughters, Anne, Lorna, and Sarah all of Orlando.
