Walter J. Wisniewski, 89, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Evergreen Woods Health and Rehabilitation Center in Spring Hill. He was born in Chicago, IL on April 3, 1923, the son of the late John and Katherine (Romanoff) Wisniewski, visited St. Petersburg every winter since 2001 and moved here to live with his son in 2008 from Elgin, IL. He moved to Spring Hill in 2012. He was the owner of a restaurant and bar near Washington Park Race Track in East Hazel Crest, IL He was an Army veteran of WW II where he served in Gen. George S. Patton's Third Army and was in the Battle Of The Bulge. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church East Hazel Crest, IL and attended St. Marcelline Catholic Church in Schaumburg, IL. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen A. Wisniewski; four children, Lawrence "Larry," Lynnette, Russell, and Len; his sister, Rose Mahaffey of Sarasota, FL; and three grandchildren, Naomi, Luke, and Zachary. Visitation 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday, March 14, 2013 and Noon to 9:00 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2013 at Monee Funeral Home in Monee, IL. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in East Hazel Crest, IL. Interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Steger, IL. $(document).ready(function(){ });
