David Frederick Mamber

David F. Mamber (Dave) passed away on August 7, 2015, at the age of 64 years. The void he leaves in our lives and our hearts is beyond description; his indomitable spirit and sheer joy in life touched and enriched the lives of all who knew him. Although Dave considered himself a Florida native, he was born in Mansfield, OH, on 23 March 1951, moving to Florida when he was 10 years old. He attended the Admiral Farragut Academy before enrolling in Rollins College, and graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communications. He then moved to Atlanta, GA, to become the youngest general manager ever of the Playboy Club. He returned to St. Petersburg, FL, as the co-owner of Dave's Aqua Lounge, established in 1967 by his father. In 1983, Dave married the love of his life and his soul-mate, Jolyne Mamber (née Hines). Dave's passion for music and fine spirits drove him to become an avid presence in the liquor industry and a strong supporter of the blues music community. He was instrumental in passing the ordinance that allows bars to stay open until 3 am, a legacy he leaves to the St. Petersburg community. Alongside his devotion to the blues, in his free time, Dave was also an active fisherman, an adventurous traveler, and a member of the Porsche club. He was a loyal friend, loving husband, and amazing father. He is survived by his doting wife, Jolyne Mamber, his adoring daughter Dr. Carlyn Martina-Mamber, his loving son Lionel Martina, and his dear adopted German children, Grit and Stephan Pfuhl. We are comforted by the knowledge that Dave was known and loved by so many. We invite you all to celebrate his life on August 22, 2015 at 1 pm, at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr MLK Jr St N, St. Petersburg 33704. There will be live music, and a shot or cherry bomb to toast Dave on his final journey. So bring your best story about Dave and give him a glorious send-off!
