November 1st, 1927 - June 19th, 2008
LaMar, Truman S., 80, of St. Petersburg, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at his home. Truman was born on November 1, 1927, as the second child of Samuel and Ethel LaMar, and was raised in Wayne County, Indiana. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married his sweetheart of the last 58 years, Ruth Krick on June 11, 1950. He earned an Associates Degree from Indiana University and a Bachelors Degree from Wright State University later in life through much sacrifice and diligence. He had a fulfilling career in corporate accounting management until retiring on his 65th birthday. He exemplified great work/family balance throughout his career. Family vacations each summer resulted in having visited all states except Oregon and Washington. Truman and Ruth relocated from Richmond, Indiana to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1991. Truman was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, his son and daughter-in-law Jim and Sheri LaMar of Valrico, FL, and his daughter and son-in-law Judi and Jeff Tsiguloff of Seminole, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jaime Nicole LaMar, Laura and Eric Tsiguloff, his sister and brother in law Elizabeth and Ralph Ketron of Eaton, OH, and his brother and sister in law Meredith and Kay LaMar of Marion, IN. He leaves having imparted his family with wonderful memories, strong values and lots of love that will live on in their hearts. His character, kindness, humility, integrity and generosity were frequently acknowledged and admired by others during his lifetime and will be missed greatly. The family invites you to join them as they celebrate his life on Sunday, June 29, 2008. The family will be greeting and sharing stories and fond memories about Truman's life with friends and family from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. immediately followed by the memorial service at the Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. M.L. King Jr. St. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33704. In lieu of flowers, the family is encouraging memorial contributions to Allendale United Methodist Church, 3803 Haines Road North, St. Petersburg, FL 33703.
