Hayes, Effie Coryell 83, of St. Petersburg, died August 14, 2008 at home under Hospice care. Born in Minneapolis, MN, she made St. Petersburg her permanent home in 1948. She was a graduate of the University of Maryland where she was active with Delta Gamma. She was a medical social worker with the State of Florida. She was a founding member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the Junior League of St. Petersburg, and the Stuart Society of the Museum of Fine Arts. Survivors include three children: Catharine Viebrock, Lee Teri Coryell, and Sarah Gary Bell; stepson, Benjamin Hayes; six grandchildren: Michael Viebrock, Tiffany Coryell, Trevor Coryell, Troy Coryell, Rebecca Leonard and Sarah Leonard. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 23rd at St .Thomas Episcopal Church, 1200-Snell Isle Blvd. NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704 . In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
