Corlyss Lorraine Winters
June 8th, 1925 - August 22nd, 2008
Winters, Corlyss L. 83, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2008. She came to St. Petersburg in 1968 when her husband, Warren, retired from the United States Air Force. She taught 35 years in elementary schools and for the last 22 years at Lynch Elementary. She volunteered 7 years at Sawgrass Lake Elementary. She belonged to South Pinellas County Retired Educators Association, Florida Retired Teachers Association, St. Raphael's Catholic Church, and St. Raphael's Guild. Her greatest joy was working with children. She enjoyed all sports and traveling with her husband and children. She is survived by her 2 sons, Reed S. Winters and Robert S. Winters; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 5 - 7 PM at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. St. N. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 9:30 AM at Sylvan Abbey Cemetery, 2860 Sunset Point Road.
