James "Jim" D. Ramage
October 20th, 1957 - August 29th, 2008
Ramage, James David "Jim" 50, of St. Petersburg, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 when struck by a truck while riding his bicycle. He was born in Connecticut and later moved to Pennsylvania where he grew up. He attended Penn State and achieved his Master's in Business at Robert Morris College in Pennsylvania. Jim met his wife, Donna, in Dallas in 1989, moved to Florida in 1990, and married in December 1991. In 1993, Jim and Donna had their only beautiful child, Carly. He was a dedicated employee for AT&T as a National Project Manager for 22 years. He focused on his health by watching his diet and exercising daily. He was an avid Pittsburg sports team fan, including the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Since moving to Florida, he added the Tampa Bay Bucs and Rays. He was a long-standing member of the St. Petersburg Tennis League. He lived for Wednesdays where he played with a great group of guys that called themselves the Dynamic Doubles Dudes. This group routinely organized social gatherings that always included tennis. When he wasn't watching sports on TV, he was reading, which he instilled in his daughter. For the past 3 years, Jim and his twin brother, John, would ride their bikes celebrating their birthdays by riding the miles matching their age. Last year, they rode from St. Augustine to Daytona for their 50th birthday. They planned on riding the Withlacoochee Trail in October for their 51st. They also previously hiked a portion of the Appalachian Mountain trail as another bonding experience. Jim could relate to anyone with his positive attitude and outlook on life. He had the ability to develop friendships that lasted his lifetime. He was a huge classic rock and roll fan and he never tired of watching his collection of aged music videos with his friends. We could only hope he is listening to "Stairway to Heaven." He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Carly; twin brother, John; sister, Susan Maurer; father, William; mother, Sara Sechler and step-father, Rod; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers. A gathering will begin at 1:00 PM with a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. St. N. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the family's college fund for Carly Ramage to 7100 US Highway 19 North, Pinellas Park, FL 33789, made payable to Carly Ramage, or you may stop by any Wachovia Bank branch.
