Jacques, MSGT Ret Maurice L., Sr. "Frenchy", 85, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 11, 2008 with his wife and children by his side. Born on June 13, 1923 in Rollinsford, NH he was the third of eight children born to Alphonse and Stephanie Lesage Jacques. He was predeceased by both parents; brothers Joseph Jacques, Lucien Jacques and Paul Jacques; sisters Lillian P. Jacques Faias and Pauline twin sister to Paul Jacques Ducharme. He is survived by his wife, Estelle I. Jacques, and children Thomas H. Carson, Sharon L. Henry, Sandra L. Jacques and Maurice L. Jacques, Jr.; two brothers, Robert Jacques and Ralph Jacques; 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A family viewing will be held at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. ML King Jr. Street N., St. Petersburg, FL on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. A military honors ceremony and burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in memorial to Maurice L. Jacques, Sr. to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
