February 11th, 1927 - October 13th, 2008
Wainman, Walter E. "Walt", 81, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Monday, October 13th at Hospice House Woodside. He was born in Olean, NY and was a Navy veteran. Walter moved here in 1957 where he worked for the Federal Government as a Building Manager. He was of the Catholic faith, having been a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Walter was a member of the American Legion, N.A.R.F.E. as well as the VFW in Olean, NY. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years: Mildred "Millie" Avis Wainman and his grandson, David Earl Wainman. Walter is survived by his son: Steven Ashley Ryan Wainman of St. Petersburg; daughters: April Bruce Baggett of St. Augustine and Mary "Mia" Robert Adkins of Palmetto, GA; 2 grandchildren: Melissa Wainman and Jennifer Baggett; and 2 sisters: Virginia Jackson of Youngstown, NY and Phyllis MacDonald of Rochester, NY. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast-Woodside Hospice House.
