Paulina Czerkas
December 8th, 1923 - November 11th, 2008
Czerkas, Paulina 84, of St. Petersburg, formerly of North Port, Fl and Lorain, OH passed away on Nov. 11, 2008. Born in Ukraine, immigrated to the United States in 1949 and resided in Lorain, OH until 1980. She moved to North Port, FL in 1980 and then to St. Petersburg in 2002. She was active in the parish communities in Lorain, North Port, and St. Petersburg. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Women's League. She enjoyed actively working with the Ukrainian Church, the Ukrainian community and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hryhory and grandson, Stefan. Survivors include 2 sons, John Olya and Michael Nancy; grandchildren, Julie, Jenny, Marko, and Rick; and great-grandchildren, Cierra, Bruce, and Michael. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Stefan G. Czerkas Memorial Scholarship at USF, Engineering Development Office, College of Engineering, ENB 118, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL 33620-5350.
