Delaney, John Robert M.D. 74, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Born in New York City, NY, he came here in 1971 from New Jersey. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran. He graduated from Holy Cross College in 1955 and the University of Ottawa Medical School in 1959. He practiced general psychiatry locally since 1971. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He is survived by wife of 48 years, Catherine H. Delaney; daughters, Ann Bruce Delaney and Laura Michael Brody; son, John R. Delaney; brother, Mark A. Rose Delaney and 5 grandchildren, Derek, Aaron, Brian, Mackenzie and Kathleen. There will be a Public Visitation from 1:00pm till service time at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Anderson-McQueen, 2201-Dr. M.L. King Street North. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in his name to Neighborly Care Network, Meals on Wheels, 12425 28th St. N., Suite 200, St. Petersburg, FL 33716.
