February 3rd, 1918 - April 2nd, 2009
Gramm, Charles F. 91 of St. Petersburg and Penfield, NY, died April 2, 2009 surrounded by his family. Born in Harrisburg, PA he attended the University of Rochester. He worked as an Optical Engineer specialist at Bausch and Lomb, Haywood Co., operated his own Contact Lens Lab and Eastman Kodak Co. While at Eastman Kodak Co. he was project manager for Advanced Technology and Studies which involved lasers and infrared research. He was an avid sailor and a former member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. He is a member of the St. Petersburg Astronomy Club and former member of the Optical Society of America and Amateur Radio Assoc. In his retirement he designed and built telescopes. Charles was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lorraine Lori; sons, Robert Ginny of Middletown, MD and Jeffrey Debbie of Bristol, TN; 5 grandchildren, Mike Jen, Jeff C. Lindsay, Sean Heather, Julia and Christina; 3 great grandchildren, Jacob, Tim and Connor. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donation made in his name to St. Anthony's Hospital or Bon Secours Nursing Home.
