LANE, Joyce Kickliter, 77, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Queens, New York, to the late George K. Kickliter and Ella Annette " Anne" Kickliter, she resided in St. Petersburg and was a member of 5th Avenue Baptist Church most of her lifetime. She enjoyed many activities including going to the beach, listening to music and talk radio and swimming. She attended St. Petersburg High School, class of 1956, where she was a participant in the choir and volleyball team. Joyce graduated from Florida State University, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and met her husband. She worked during her life as an elementary school teacher, homemaker and self-employed real estate property manager. She was a member of the St. Petersburg Junior Women's Club. She enjoyed trips to the mountains in North Carolina, bowling, playing bridge and most treasured the time with her family and friends. She had the patience of a saint, and always found creative ways to interact with her children and help people through difficult situations. Joyce is survived by her husband of 55 years, Girard W. (Jerry); daughter, Deborah; son, Jerry Jr.; brother, Gene Kickliter and his wife Sue, grandson Daniel Frey and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will take place Saturday, Jan. 2, from 10-11am at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home at 2201 Dr MLKing St N, with funeral service at 11am and reception to follow. Graveside service will be held at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 10232 FL State Road 674 in Wiamauma, FL 33547 at 2:30pm. Joyce specifically asked that this not be a somber occasion, but one that is uplifting and a celebration of her life.
