Michael Thomas Grady, 68, of St. Petersburg, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016. Mike was born in Queens, NY, on February 10, 1948 to Clara Margaret Smith Grady and the late Harry Joseph Grady. Mike is survived by his wife, Theresa Murray Grady; children, Shannon Grady Koch and husband Patrick, Erin Grady Adams and husband Bryan, Tanner Phillip Loebel and fiancé Kiley Dooley; brother, Mitchell Joseph Grady and wife Peggy; grandson, William Wayne Adams; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his father, Mike was also preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Mary Bluemke. Mike grew up in North Babylon in Long Island before moving to New Orleans for college. Mike graduated from Loyola University New Orleans, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Business. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserves and was proud of his service. Mike and his family relocated to Tampa in 1989. On September 21, 1991, he and wife Theresa were married and have spent 25 loving years together. Mike worked many years as the owner/operator of assisted living facilities in St. Petersburg and was known for his dedication to helping those in need. Mike was an avid golfer and enjoyed weekly games with his long time golfing buddies, Nate Travis, Bob Peters, Steve Beck and Marshall Gingery, as well as his son and son-in-law. He was especially proud of his multiple hole in ones. Mike enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time at home with his family with a cold drink in hand (usually a gin and tonic). El Cap lunches were a favorite with daughter Shannon. He cherished his visits to Gulf Breeze to spend time with daughter Erin, son-in-law Bryan, and grandson William. Mike adored William and loved taking him to Busch Gardens and the zoo. He was passionate about watching Tampa Bay sports with son Tanner. What he enjoyed most though was relaxing on the couch with his wife Terry after a long day. He was a true family man with a warm and loving heart. He will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 6pm at Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center; 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. St. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33704. The family will receive guests an hour prior to the service.
