CARLSON, Kay W. 89, of St. Petersburg, Florida died peacefully on May 18, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in McKeesport, Pa. and moved his family to St. Petersburg in 1974. He is preceded into heaven by his dear wife of 61 years, Florence, who died in 2007. He was a dedicated husband, a wonderful father and grandfather and a warm and ready friend to anyone and everyone who was lucky enough to ever meet him. He is survived by his four sons and his daughters-in-law: Dr. Jeffrey K. and Cheryl Carlson; James E. and Melanie Carlson; Jerald D. and Helen (Beth) Carlson, Charles A. and Rebecca Carlson; ten grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and his sister, Darlene Perry of Richmond, Virginia. In Kay's memory, memorial contributions may be made to Chapters Health Hospice, 12470 Telecom Drive, Suite 300 West, Temple Terrace, FL 33637. A remembrance service will be held at Gunter Funeral Home, 4100 16th Street North, St. Petersburg, 33703 on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at Grace Lutheran Church, 4301 16th Street North, St. Petersburg, 33703 on Wednesday May 25, 2016 at 10 am. Guests are invited to join the family for an informal reception following the funeral service on Wednesday at the home of Jeffrey and Cheryl Carlson 156 Ramon Way NE St. Petersburg, FL 33704
