Elisa Rodriguez

84, of St. Petersburg, entered into rest on Monday, January 4, 2010, at her home. She was born and raised in Tampa, FL. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1944. She worked at Wimauma Elementary and Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary School, as a bilingual aid. She retired from the Hillsborough County School System in 1993. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and wife. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, and was passionate about helping her students. Her first love was being a mom and a grandmother "Abuela". She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rodriguez; her mother, Elisa Simon; her father, Augusto Simon Jr.; and her sister, Siomara Garcia. She is survived by her son, Augusto (Kathy) Rodriguez; her daughter, Roberta (Timothy) Walsh; her sister, Gloria Tagliarini; her 6 grandchildren, Robert (Kathleen) Rodriguez, Andrew Leeds, Joanna Leeds, Jessica Walsh, Patrick Walsh, and Hannah Walsh; and 1 great-granddaughter, Christina Rodriguez. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Raphael's Catholic Church on Wednesday January 6, 2010 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lymphatic Research Foundation, in honor of Hannah Walsh.
