Varnes, Karen Ruth (Tippett) 68 of St. Petersburg , FL passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was born in Chicago, IL, on March 8, 1948 to the late Ferdinand Braasch and Alma (Gall) Braasch. Karen is survived by her husband, Jimmie E. Varnes; children, Jerome Paul Tippett Jr. and wife Jennifer; Kara Renee Hastings and husband David; grandchildren, Jerome Paul Tippett, III, Elise Patricia Tippett, Graham Hastings; sister, Sandra Lee Starr; many extended family members and friends. The family will receive guests for a visitation between the hours of 6-8pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center, 2201 Dr. MLK Street St. Petersburg, FL 33702. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, 4301 16th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33755. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33709. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karen's honor to Grace Lutheran Church & School, 4301 16th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33755.
