Dennis John Kolb, 75, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on December 31, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Florida in 1971. He is survived by his loving family including son, Matthew Kolb; stepchildren Kim Moorman Huffman (Rod), Kelley Moorman Wood (Phil), Rob Moorman (Tina); grandchildren Jeremy Wood, Josh Wood and Haley Huffman; and three-year-old great-granddaughter Dylan, who he adored. Also surviving, brother Brian Baldwin (Pat), sister Jill McDannold (Ray), several nephews and nieces, as well as his former wife and good friend, Kathy Kolb. Dennis was an Army veteran, serving from 1960 to 1962. An independent bread distributor for 50 years, he was often referred to as "the mayor," due to his love of people and frequent around-town visits. He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing to 1950s music and watching his favorite sports teams. Please join Dennis' family for a celebration of his life at Lutheran Church of the Cross in St. Petersburg, FL on Monday, January 16, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Lutheran Church of the Cross or Kids & Kubs Softball Club.
