Frances M. Casamassima

Frances M Casamassima, 96, of Saint Petersburg, formerly Auburn, NY, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Auburn, on November 1, 1920 to the late Frank Bianco and the late Antoinette "Nina" Donato. Frances married the love of her life, John T. Casamassima Sr. on June 24th 1944. Together, John & Frances Casamassima created a large Italian family consisting of 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was a hard working woman, who worked as head Chambermaid at Auburn Inn for many years, and held several other jobs over her lifetime. Locally, she was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. She was also a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Auburn, NY. She resided in Auburn until 1989, when she moved to Florida with her Daughter, AnnMarie Graney and her Son-In-Law, James Graney. She happily lived the last 28 years of her life in the Sunshine State with her Daughter and two grandchildren, Alicia & Justin Graney. Frances most cherished time and laughter with her family. Her kind soul touched all those that surrounded her life. Frances is survived by her Three Daughters, Jean Vreeland, Marie Church and AnnMarie Graney; Daughter-In-Law, Patricia Casamassima; Son, Michael Casamassima; Son-In-Laws, Joseph Ostrowski Jr., Howard Church and Dana Cornall; Brother, Leonard Bianco; Granddaughter, Alicia Graney; Grandson, Justin Graney; along with many other loving family members and close friends. Frances is predeceased by Husband, John Casamassima; Sons, John Casamassima, Jr.; Daughter, Nancy Cornall; Brother, Louie Bianco; Brother, Anthony Bianco; Sisters, Mary Parente, Peggy Bertonica, and Josephine Tenney. We invite Family and Friends to attend Memorial services to celebrate Frances's jovial life. A viewing will be held on, Sunday, August 13th at Cheche Funeral Home, in Auburn NY. Mass will be held on Monday, August 14th at St. Francis Church, Auburn, NY. Following burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
