Bartlett, James Benjamin "Benny" 73, of St. Petersburg, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 3, 2012. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, he came here in 1960. He was an Army veteran and a long time member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. Benny retired after 35 years as Director of Transportation and Maintenance at Shorecrest Preparatory School. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marquerite "Ann" Bartlett; son, Lee (Andrea) Bartlett, daughters, Kathy (John) Peterson, Beth Bartlett and Amy (Jeff) Raab; sister in law Betty Kay (Charlie) Sands; grandchildren, Tori Bartlett, Ethan Bartlett, Thea Bartlett, Evan Bartlett, Sidney Wall, Tanner Wall, Kendall Pope, Keaton Pope, Nikolai Peterson, Carola Raab, Billy Weaver and Sarah Weaver; Nieces and Nephews, Wendy (Reg) Goldie, Kim (Brett) Everhart, Chuck (Jennifer) Sands and Bob Sands. There will be a gathering from 3:30pm until service time at 4pm on Saturday, July 7th at Anderson McQueen, 2201 Dr. MLK St. N. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the General Scholarship Fund at Shorecrest Preparatory School, 5101 1st St. NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33703.
