Linde, Harry Wight, 87, of St. Petersburg, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Kindred Hospital. Born in Woodbridge, New Jersey, he graduated from Tufts College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Class of 1950. He received his Ph.D. from MIT, Class of 1953. He was a US Navy veteran having served in WWII. He was Professor Emeritus of Northwestern University where he was the Associate Dean for the Honors Medical Program and Professor of Anesthesiology at Medical School for 25 years. He was a fellow with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was a fifty year member of the American Chemical Society. He was preceded in death by parents, Harry J. and Edith E. Linde. He is survived by wife of 56 years, Myra D. Linde; his son, Brian P. (Kate) Linde of St. Petersburg; his daughter, Carolyn E. (Ken) Johnson of Reading, MA; and his nine granchildren, Kira Linde, Emily Linde, Katya Linde, Mark Linde, Sasha Linde, Ilya Linde, Audrey Johnson, Luke Johnson, Katherine Johnson. In lieu flowers, the family prefers donations be made in his memory to the Harry W. Linde Honors Program Fellowship at Northwestern University.
