Herschel Leon Johnson, 73, passed away on April 8th, 2020 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Herschel was born in Valdosta, Georgia and is preceded in death by his father, Leon Frank Johnson and Mother, Wilma-Jean Dampier Johnson. A dedicated lover of his country, he enrolled in the United States Air Force in 1968 and served unselfishly in the Vietnam War from 1968 - 1971. Herschel was a devoted husband to Carol Virginia Johnson, loving father to Jason, Amy, Wendy Lemons (Travis), Brent McGary (Denise) and proud Papa to his precious grandchildren, Johnny, Ciara, Hannah, Carson, Evan and Joylyn. A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
