Dr. Artajerjes Rios-Marques

DR. ARTAJERJES RIOS-MARQUES, 83, of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, died peacefully at his home in St. Petersburg, FL on July 17, 2021. He was born to the late Vicente Rios-Roure and Dolores Marques-Muńoz from Puerto Rico. Dr. Ríos graduated from Colegio San Felipe High School in P.R., received his Bachelor Degree in Agriculture & Large Cattle Husbandry from Texas A & M, Doctor in Veterinary Degree from the prestigious Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, and awarded an honorary discharge as a Veteran from the U.S. Army. He practiced Veterinary medicine in the Tampa Bay Area until his retirement in 2005. He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-five years, Maritza Rivera-Montequin; by three sons: Vicente, Rafael, and Arturo; their spouses, Diana, Arelys, and Kimberly; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends for his kindness and generosity, and for his love and devotion to the well-care of animals during his many years of Veterinary practice. A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in St. Petersburg on Friday, July 23rd at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
