Matheus Covas Almeida

Matheus Covas Almeida was born in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on July 19, 1996, to the Parents of Maria Covas and Marcelo Almeida. He passed away December 16th, 2021, at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is survived by his wife Jade Almeida, his mother Maria Covas, his father Marcelo Almeida, his youngest brother Manuel Covas Almeida, and his two older brothers Andre Covas and Marcelo Almeida. Matt moved to America when he was fourteen years old and quickly fell in love with this country. He spoke fluently in both Portuguese and English. Matt had a passion for cars old and new, foreign, and domestic. He was a handsome, outgoing, sweet, stubborn, full of life, and talented boy. Matt lit up any room he walked in to. He grew up surfing the ocean in Rio De Janeiro and playing soccer, which was his favorite sport to watch and play. He loved music. His favorite instruments were the piano and the saxophone. Family was very important to Matt. He spent as much time with his wife and Family as he could. Matt was a loving husband, a loving son, a loving brother, and a wonderful friend to those who had the honor of knowing him. If you knew Matt you also knew that he went by Matty C, Matty Covas, MC, or just Matty. Matt left us at the very young age of 25 and will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Matt will always live on in our hearts. Today and forever more he will be our most beautiful star. Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 200 78th Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33702 on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 10am, with a funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Ave N, Clearwater, FL 33760
