Frances A Jones

Frances A. Jones, of St. Petersburg passed away in Hospice Care at Palm Gardens of Largo on October 10, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was a cherished mother and grandmother and a good friend to many. Predeceased by her husband Myron Etchison and Rufus Jones, and son Ron Etchison. Survived by her daughter, Karen Murray and her husband Michael of Seminole, FL. Daughter, Theresa Arrison and her husband Robert of Kenneth City, FL. Daughter Tamie Etchison of St. Petersburg, FL. Also survived by seven Grandchildren and ten Great Grandchildren. Frances was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1931 to Mary and George Koder. As a young girl her family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she was a student and graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1949. Frances and Myron married and eventually relocated to St. Petersburg in 1960. They lived an adventurous life raising Karen, Theresa, Ron, and Tamie. Camping in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee were always a family treasured retreat. As a career, Frances enjoyed working in the Sales Department at J.C. Penney's for many years. Her Church Home was Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Petersburg where she served in the Women’s Club. One of her hobbies was creating beautiful Roman Catholic Rosaries. Frances enjoyed spending time watching her Grandchildren grow up and attending events they were involved in when she could. Another was traveling and being with her Red Hatter’s friends. But her family would all agree what she enjoyed the most was decorating her home for Christmas.
