Milton "Pat" William Minarcin, Jr
May 1st, 1945 - October 14th, 2023
Milton William Minarcin, Jr., "Pat", 78, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away October 14, 2023 at Bayfront Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit. Born in San Antonio, TX and well-travelled as the son of a military family, Pat graduated from high school in Seville, Spain. He attended university in Madrid. He was preceded in death by parents, Milton William, Sr. and Clayrice; his brothers, Terrance Minarcin and Martin Minarcin. Pat is survived by his wife of 15 years, Kathy (Green) Minarcin; three children, Robert Minarcin, Susan Minarcin, and McKenna Minarcin; three grandchildren, Bailey Minarcin, Jacqueline Minarcin, and Charles Minarcin and his brother John Minarcin. Pat had a long career in journalism, highlighted by many years as a television news anchor, magazine editor, and newspaper editor, resulting in nine Emmy awards, a Peabody award, and a Clarion award to name a few. Pat was a loving and resourceful person, who remained active in writing and left a well-researched, but unfinished manuscript that he was working on during his retirement years. But probably the most important thing about Pat was his sense of humour. Pat loved to laugh and make others enjoy the moment and that is one of the things for which he will be most missed. An informal Celebration of Life event will be held to honor Pat, at the family's home at 417 Red Cedar Ct. NE, St. Petersburg on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. All who knew Pat or the family are invited to attend.
