David Clinton Wenger

David C. Wenger, 78, of St. Pete Beach, FL, passed away peacefully April 1st, 2024, at his home. Born in Philadelphia, he was preceded in death by his parents David P. and Catherine Wenger, and his siblings William Jeffrey, Henry G. Wenger, and Wayne J. Wenger. David is survived by his sister Catherine Coppola of Ft. Myers, FL; his five children Michael D. Wenger (Linda) of Chalfont, PA, David J. Wenger of Newtown, PA, Tracey A. Hickam (Kevin) of Treasure Island, FL, Peter C. Wenger (Meagan) of Newtown, PA, and Michael J. Wenger (Lindsay) of Naperville, IL. Loving grandfather of ten grandchildren, Amanda (Greg), Greg, Anthony (Stephanie), Vincent (Sarah), Landon, Ashton, Grace, Ethan, Hannah and Sophia. He has two great-grandchildren, Lea and Ryan, several nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved cats, Earl and Katie. David graduated from LaSalle University, Philadelphia. He served in the United States Marine Corps and in 1978, formed Eastern America Transport & Warehousing. Eastern America grew over the years to include customs bonded warehousing, truckload services and mail consolidation. In 2000, Eastern America became a founding company of Roadlink USA where David sat on the board until his retirement. David was known nationally as one of the most influential and knowledgeable trucking and drayage professionals in the nation. He received many awards and recognition for his accomplishments over the years. David had a passion for children and served on several charities boards dedicated to handicapped children. He was honored many times by the Variety Club and Shriners Hospital for his generous contributions. He was also a supporter of Little Sisters of the Poor and Salvation Army. David enjoyed his retirement in Florida playing golf, gathering with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always readily available to his children and grandchildren to share his business knowledge, providing advice and support. He will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Salvation Army, Shriners Hospital, or The Little Sisters of the Poor.
