Jeremy Sean Roybal – Obituary

April 7, 1977 – May 9, 2024

Jeremy Sean Roybal, beloved by all who knew him, came to us on April 7, 1977, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. All who loved him bid him farewell on May 9th, at the age of 47. Jeremy grew up with his family throughout northern New Mexico and was the third and youngest child of John and Rose Roybal. He attended New Mexico Military Institute in high school where he met his wife, Roberta Baldwin. They were married for 19 years and had three children: Michael, Kathrine and Erin Ashley Roybal. He is preceded in death by his wife, Roberta. He is survived by his three children, his partner Stephen Sanchez, his parents, his sister Lisa Beairsto, his brother Steve Roybal, his aunts: Rosina Martinez, Patricia Medina and Dr. Anita Roybal; his mother-in-law, Maria Baldwin and many cousins.

Jeremy (“Jer”) was a gentle soul and had a spirit that shined brightly. He was smart, kind, handsome and a joy to be around. Growing up, he loved playing in “the woods” with his friends and camping with his family. He was a caring mentor to his cousins—wise beyond his years. He loved playing video games, especially Zelda, and his favorite nighttime snacks were cereal, peanut butter and popsicles. Jeremy had a warm sense of humor that endeared him to many. He loved teasing his Mom and co-workers and making them laugh. He also enjoyed spending time with his aunts and was a giving and caring nephew. Jeremy’s parents raised him and his siblings with a love of music and movies that they will always carry with them. Whether it was singing in the car or appreciating a particular line or verse, it is those moments--which seemed so ordinary at the time-- that his family will forever hold dear.

After graduating high school and getting married, Jeremy was a loving husband and father to his children and their beloved pets. While working and raising a family, he obtained his Associates Degree in computer technology and worked in related fields. Jeremy always lived life to the fullest. He loved learning new things taking apart computers to put them back together. He loved cooking after watching cooking shows with his family. He loved reading all kinds of novels and sharing his love of reading, watching anime or T.V. shows with his kids because that is what they found interesting. He was the kind of person who just wanted to be there in the fun and in the moment. Jeremy was the lighthouse on dark, stormy nights. His children always knew where home was in his heart. They could see it in his eyes. All of us who loved Jeremy will miss his tender heart, his smile, his humor, the sound of his voice. We will carry his free spirit and the joy he brought us forever in our hearts. He will always be loved and remembered.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family wishes for only prayers of healing and the sharing of happy, loving memories of Jeremy. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo N.E., Albuquerque, NM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
