Nadine Hamilton
May 2nd, 1933 - January 31st, 2017
Elizabeth Nadine (Wilson) Hamilton, 83, died at the Panorama Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Lacey on January 31, 2017, after a long decline due to cerebrovascular disease. Nadine was born May 2, 1933, in Pratt, Kansas, to Leslie and Mildred (Briggs) Wilson. Her father managed a farmer’s cooperative grain elevator in Iuka, Kansas, and her mother was a former schoolteacher and homemaker. Nadine graduated from Pratt High School in 1951 and attended Kansas State University for two years. She then worked as a clerk for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, where she met Herbert E. Hamilton, an engineer. They married in 1954, and had two sons, Michael Hamilton of Bremerton and Douglas Hamilton of Orlando, Florida. Nadine and Herb made homes in Wichita; Seattle; Moses Lake; Huntsville, Alabama; Seabrook, Texas; and Edmonds before retiring to Hoodsport and later Lacey. After their sons entered high school, Nadine worked in real estate sales, as an office manager, as a mortgage specialist, and in several administrative positions at Boeing. Following retirement, she volunteered with the Seattle Children’s Hospital Guild and the Friends of the Hoodsport Library; she also traveled to many parts of the world, often with her good friend Jean Hustler. Throughout her life, she was an avid bridge player. Nadine was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years; her parents; and her sister, Connie (Wilson) Hodges. She is survived by her brother, Leslie Briggs Wilson of Mountain View, Missouri; her two sons; grandchildren, Bridger Hamilton, Forest Hamilton, and Faith Uebele; and one great-granddaughter, Adelaide Uebele. Please leave memories of Nadine or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
