Dolores “Dorie” Ann Baker (Frantz), of Ft. Myers, 84, died on January 3 at 3:00 am at Lee Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Patrick Baker. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 19 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on 13031 Palm Beach Boulevard, Ft. Myers. Mrs. Baker was born April 18, 1939, in York, PA. She is the daughter of the late James and M. Dolores (Glackin) Frantz. Dorie was a retired Medical Technologist at York Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Patrick and St. Joseph Churches in York, PA, and St. Vincent de Paul in Ft. Myers. Dorie was an avid Shuffleboard player. She was very active in her community at Cypress Woods Resort and was known for helping to organize events. She was an amazing cook. Mrs. Baker is survived two sisters: Lee Leahy of Greensboro, NC and Cathy Bourne of Edgewater, FL; by a daughter, Amy, married to Jason Gillam and grandson, Jonas Gillam. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
