Brian Phillip Flaherty

Brian Phillip Flaherty Brian, age 50, died of cancer February 17, 2012 in Rainier, Washington. He was born June 17, 1961 to Keith and Sally Flaherty in Napa, California. He was a 1980 graduate of Napa High School and then attended Napa Community College. He married Brenda Jones on July 31, 2010. Professionally, he was a self-employed landscape designer. He loved spending time with family, woodworking, baseball, and gardening. Brian is survived by his wife, Brenda Flaherty of Rainier; son, Keith Flaherty of Rainier; daughters, Carol Flaherty of Rainier, Brenda Jo Bentley of Florida, Cherice Bentley of Shelton, and Danielle (Daniel) Van Ausdale of Federal Way; sister, Erin Flaherty of Citrus Heights, California; mother, Sally, and stepfather, Hal Messner of Napa, California; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Flaherty; and granddaughter, Ciara Lemn. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Rainier Chapel, 206 Binghampton Street in Rainier. A potluck gathering will follow the service at the Rainier High School cafeteria behind the middle school; bring your favorite dish. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Key Bank/Flaherty.
