Michael Dean Hildebrand
August 17th, 1957 - November 17th, 2016
Mike was born in Wenatchee, Washington, on August 17, 1957, to Dorothy and Harley Hildebrand. The family moved to Arizona in 1963, where his father’s job with Sears took them. They loved in four Arizona cities for the next 11 years until 1974 when Mike’s father was again promoted to the Antioch, California, Sears store. Mike graduated from Antioch High and started college in Concord, California. In 1978, another promotion took the family to Olympia, Washington, where Mike finished college at Central Washington University with a degree in Education. At age 14, Mike was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes, which never stopped him from doing the things he wanted to do, playing all sports and playing them well. He never complained, never said “Why me?” On July 19, 1986, he married Yvonne Raboin in Olympia, where they have resided for the past 30 years. They both worked in supervisory positions for the State of Washington. Yvonne was forced to retire for health reasons. They have one son, Taylor Dean, who followed his parents’ path to the state after graduating from college. Mike passed away November 17, 2016 in Olympia. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; son, Taylor; father, Harley of Wenatchee; brothers, Danny of Wenatchee, and Scott of Seattle; sister-in-law, Judy of Seattle; several cousins in the Penhallegon, Truitt and Nelson Families; and nephew, Daniel’s kids. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Please leave memories of Mike or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
