October 29th, 1951 - June 4th, 2012
Danny Lynn Washington was born in Porterville, California on October 1951 to Lynn Washington and Billie (Dellinger) Washington. He bravely battled cancer for the last year of his life and was 60 years old when he passed away in his home surrounded by loving family. He leaves behind a devoted wife, two young daughters and several extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Danny had several adventures in his teenage days as a train-hopper looking for honest work around the country before joining and serving in the Army for 21 years, where he visited countries around the world such as Vietnam, South America, Korea and Germany. He retired in 1991 and settled down with his family in Tacoma Washington, working at the VA Hospital where he made many loving and caring friends. Danny was an outstanding Chef and loved to cook amazing dishes for his daughters at home. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His beliefs made him a understanding, caring and wonderful person. He will be remembered for his cheeriness, great sense of humor and a love for story-telling. His family misses him so much. He will never be forgotten. Funeral Ceremony to be held Monday June 11, 2012 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1102 South Pearl Street, Tacoma with Visitation before at 9:15AM and Grave Side Service at the Tahoma National Cemetery at 2:15PM 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial Center, 253-566-1008.
