Rich was born March 7, 1947 in Tacoma, Washington. He passed away August 21, 2010 In Spanaway , WA. His last days were made better by the compassionate and loving care of Cindy Gearhart, Lana Hasting and Michelle Anderson. Rich suffered from melanoma. Rich was predeceased by both of his parents (Charles E and Lydia) and four of his brothers: Robert, Milton, William and John. He is survived by David, Paul and George (Carol). He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Kandy, Jeff, Karyn, Darren, Deanna, Dennis and Sheri. Also by many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Rich had many friends which he loved to help even if it meant going without himself. He was the preverbial jack of all trades and master of none. He was always willing to try different things. Though he did have a habit of losing his or your tools helping others. Rich attended Clover Creek elementary, Bethel Junior and Senior High schools. He received his GED while serving in the Navy. While in the Navy, he served in many countries around the Pacific Rim including flights over Vietnam. He flew out of Whidbey Island and other bases. He told many stories of his time in Australia; how friendly the women were. A memorial will be held August 29, 2010 at 6603 128th E, Puyallup. It is potluck so bring your favorite dishes and help celebrate Rich’s life at 1PM Sunday. His internment will be at the Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042 on September 1st at 1PM. Military Services are at 1PM sharp; so please arrive early. Rich’s Family and Friends thank you for your support during his illness and death.
