John Albert Riley

John Albert Riley, 75, formally of Bedford, Pennsylvania, died April 30, 2010 peacefully at home in Tacoma, Washington. He was born on November 22, 1934 at home in Bedford, Pennsylvania to the late James A. and Ruth I. (Hoppengardner) Riley. John married Hyon on November 8, 1974. He is survived by the following family: Daughter, Glenda (Riley) married to Charles A. Rightnour, Sr., Everett, Pennsylvania. Brother, Joe Aaron Riley, Bedford, Pennsylvania and Brother, Paul R. Riley, Bedford, Pennsylvania. Granddaughter, Alicia M. Rightnour, Everett, Pennsylvania, Grandson, Ricky L, Zelanko, married to Melissa (Furda), Bedford, Pennsylvania, and a neice, Marlena A. Riley, Bedford, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by brothers, James Allen Riley and David L. Riley, sister-in-law, Carol Riley, and nephew, David L. Riley Jr. and a sister, at birth. John attended Bedford High School (Bedford, Pennsylvania) and was previously employed at The Bedford Gazette and Hedstrom while he lived in Pennsylvania. While living in Washington he worked for Bremerton Shipyard. In the 1950's John joined The National Guard and The United States Army Infantry, doing tours in Korea and Germany, making the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was an expert in all firearms in the military. He retired in 1987. He enjoyed bowling; he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan; he enjoyed going to hockey games and dirt track racing, following Gerald Chamberlain Racing. He also liked going fishing with his good friend Dennis.
