Mary Ann (Williams) Harris Mary Ann, age 82, passed away January 17, 2012 at Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, Washington. She was born August 1, 1929 to Eugene Victor Williams and Mary Lee Harris in Nashville, Wisconsin. Mary Ann moved with her family from Wisconsin to Olympia when Mary was eight years old. She lived in Olympia for more than 60 years. Born the tenth of 13 children, Mary spent the war years writing and receiving letters from her many brothers serving in the armed forces around the world. Her brother Wilbur met and married Marion Harris after the war and they moved to Washington. When Marion’s brother Richard came to visit, he met Mary at a family gathering. They fell in love and were married September 7, 1947. Mary loved to spend time in their travel trailer, at Kalalock and at their hunting camp in Mason County. She was very close to her sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and Foy Ingrahm, and the two couples made many month-long trips to Montana. She and her husband also made many trips to northern Wisconsin to visit their family members there. Those Wisconsin trips were very special to them. Mary enjoyed feeding all of us when we came to visit, especially at hunting camp, where many camp fires were shared with her extended family and friends. She enjoyed mushroom picking and helping her husband drag out the many deer he harvested over the years. Mary loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and took much happiness from their visits. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hugh Harris; her parents; and seven brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son, Richard Harris Jr. (Marilyn Harris) of Shelton, Washington; her sister, Ruth Long of Plummer Idaho; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. As she was greatly loved, she will be greatly missed by all of us. Please leave memories of Mary or condolences for the family in the Guestbook below.
