Eric Jerome Nelson

Eric Jerome Nelson, passed away peaceful Monday April 18, 2016 in Auburn, Washington after a brief illness. Born October 23, 1951 in Seattle, Washington. He was the first born son of the late Roger and Carolyn Nelson. Eric worked many years as a baker for both Hostess and Gais’ Bakeries as well as various other jobs including owning his own business Gallery Music. Eric was a talented artist at a very early age, by the time he was in his early teens he illustrated the menu and advertising posters for his parents restaurant. He continued to do window art work for many years for other businesses around the area. Besides drawing Eric enjoyed tinkering with small engines and working with wood. His greatest passion of all was music. Eric had a great knowledge of what it took to make a great sounding stereo system. He spent many years collecting and rebuilding stereo components and speakers always striving for the best sound. He had an eclectic taste in music from classical to the heaviest of metal and anything in between as long as it sounded good. Eric was a beloved brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Preceded in death by his parents Roger and Carolyn (McLay) Nelson and brother Roderick “Roddy” Nelson. Eric is survived by his Son Rodger and his wife Stephanie Nelson of Seattle, WA, Daughter Celena Nelson of Auburn WA, Ex-Wife and Mother of his children Frances (Hopkins) Nelson of Seattle, WA, Grandsons Marshall Martin and Michael Matsko both of Auburn,WA. Granddaughters Michelle Matsko and Chloe Seppi both of Auburn WA. Sister Christine and her husband Ernie Gowan of Yakima, WA Brothers Charles “Chuck” Nelson and Martin “Marty” Nelson both of Seattle, WA as well as many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life held in his honor June 11th, 2016 at 2:00pm
