Lonnie C. Hogue
August 4th, 1927 - February 4th, 2011
Lonnie C. Hogue Lonnie Hogue, 83, ended his journey with us on February 4, 2011, in Olympia, WA. He was born August 4, 1927, in Long Beach, CA, to Leonard and Ina M. Hogue Smith. After serving in the Navy and receiving the WWII Victory Medal, he married Patrina A. Johnson on September 2, 1950, in Olympia. Together they had three children: daughters, Trina Hoyt of Olympia and Terri Ann Hogue (died in December 1959); and son, Lonnie P. Hogue (died in January 2005). He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Christa (Ray) Erickson of Monroe, WA, Heath (Melissa) Hoyt and Jared (Petee) Hoyt both of Olympia; 9 great grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Benjamin, Jacob, Colton, Ashley, Brooklyn, Lance and Payton; sister, Pauline Dresser of Olympia; and several nephews and nieces. Lonnie developed properties in Olympia and Elma, and with his wife, they owned and operated Standard Marina in Olympia, now known as Fiddlehead Marina. They opened and operated Crown Seafood with fish stores in the Olympia area. Besides his love of his family, he loved all things boats and fishing. He loved to tell stories and was well known for his humorous stories. He was often heard saying, “I’m from Gate, do know where Gate is?” He was a man who loved life and more than once said that he had so much more that he wanted to do and learn. He had a love of art, with a collection of various artists, such as Joe Knowles. He learned to play the piano by listening to his grandmother. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
