Mary Ellen McBride
June 14th, 1936 - June 27th, 2016
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalms 116:15 Having just arrived at 80 years old, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away. In the quiet hours of June 27th with dawn approaching and with loving family members resting nearby, Jesus called Mary to come home to heaven. Mary was married at the young age of 18 after being swept off her feet by a handsome man in the uniform of the United States Air Force, and the story was told that the marriage proposal came while riding down the road on the back of Jacks motorcycle. They were married on August 7th, 1954 in Fort Walton Beach Florida and later settled in Washington State where they raised their four children. Mary is survived by her children, Kathy, Karen(Scott), Michael, Julie(Brian). Grandchildren Crystal (Mike), Candice (Fred), Andy (Emili), Amy, Amanda, Travis, Randy (Karly), David (Mandi) and Brandon. Great grandchildren Henry, Helen, Harrison, Patrick, Jackson and Devin. Aunt Babe is also survived by her brother Tony(Barbara) and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in Florida and Texas. All of whom she loved and cherished deeply. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents Ira and Hazel, siblings Howard, CarlaV, little Roy, and Freddie. In her latter years Mary embraced her Christian faith and loved reading her bible and praying for others, referring to the Holy Spirit as The Teacher. She was a supporter of Billy Graham Ministries and found great joy reading his books. Her bible and books were well worn and marked up. She became ever so sweet in her final months and we find comfort in knowing she is in the presence of our Savior and reunited with those who went before her. We believe we will also be reunited with her and perhaps she will even meet us at heavens doors. On August 3rd there will be a double interment of Mary and Jack McBride. Separated for 20 years, their ashes will be laid to rest together in the same week of what would have been their 62nd wedding anniversary. We Love You Mom We Love You Grandma We Love You Aunt Babe. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. I Cor. 15:54
