Catherine Anne McCormick

Born 3/28/1956 in Loraine, OH to Doug and Patricia (Erdmann) Lang then raised in Sun Prairie, WI and passed away 2/7/2008 surrounded by her loving family in Lakewood, WA. Catherine was the second child of six and she spoke often of her fishing trips with her entire at Thunder Lake while growing up. In 1977 while serving as a cook in the US Army she met Patrick McCormick in the dining facilities. They later married December 23, 1978 at Fort Lewis, Washington. In 1980, together they had their first child Shaun in Pisa, Italy then came Michael in 1982 Chillicothi, MO, then their daughter Colleen was born in 1990 in Puyallup, WA. During her early marriage years, Catherine was a wonderful homemaker focusing on raising their children while at the same time caring for her ailing father-in-law Charles McCormick who eventually passed. Catherine was a long-time member of All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup, WA. While talking to there family priest one day, he explained that they might be “legally married” but in the eyes of God, they were not. So, in 1990, they were officially married a second time at All Saints Catholic Church. Catherine was passionate about cooking and making sure know one left her home hungry. She also enjoyed her boxer dogs over the last 30 years. Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Patrick; 2 sons, Shaun, Michael; daughter, Colleen McCormick; mother, Patricia Lang; 5 siblings, Diane, Paul, Jodie, Steve, and Jeff. Memorial Mass to be held 11AM Friday 2/15/08 at All Saints Catholic Church, 503 3rd St. SW, Puyallup, WA 98371. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial Center 253-566-1008.
