Charles "Chuck" Leonard

Friends may pay their respects at the Vigil Service and prior to the Funeral Mass Charles “Chuck” Raymond Leonard Chuck Leonard, 59, passed away in Tualatin, Oregon from lung cancer. He was born April 28, 1950 in Greenbrae, CA to William John and Henrietta Emily (Ravani) Leonard. He graduated from Petaluma High School in 1968 and from Sonoma State University in 1972. Chuck married Linda in Las Vegas, NV in 1979, she passed away in 2000. He was a store manager for Mervyns for over 20 years and was the owner of a credit union for five years. He went on to attend Sacred Heart School of theology in Wisconsin in 2007 and then transferred to Mt. Angel Seminary, St. Benedict, OR in 2009. Chuck enjoyed hockey and all sports, was a 49er’s fan. He loved to swim, kayak, and cook. He also hosted exchange students. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his loyalty to family and friends, his caring for people especially for young people. He was a CoreTeam Member of Life Teen, St. Michael’s high school youth ministry. His favorite response to our troubles was always W.W.J.D. – What would Jesus do? Chuck is survived by his brother George Leonard of Petaluma, CA; three nieces and two nephews and a cousin who is like a sister, Mary Holden. His parents preceded him in death. A vigil will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Olympia. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 11 at 9:30 am at St. Michael. Family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Mt. Angel Seminary.
