Robert "Harris, Jr." Lee Lindsey
August 20th, 1949 - July 22nd, 2012
Robert Lee (Harris, Jr.) Lindsey After fighting a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving wife at his side, Robert, 62, passed away July 22, 2012 in Olympia, Washington. He was born to Robert and Irene (Cheney) Harris on August 20, 1949 in Chehalis, Washington. He graduated high school in Spokane, Washington and attended technical college in Everett, Washington. He also lived in the Seattle area, and for the last 32 years lived in Tumwater, Washington. Robert married Sandra Lee Lindsey on June 3, 2000. He was a mechanic, fabricator, and all-around great handyman. One of Robert’s greatest achievements was designing and building the family home with Sandra, one nail at a time. Being one of the biggest VW enthusiast in the area, Robert had enjoyed many passions. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes across the state and locally in Capital Forest. He won many bike trophies in his younger days in the Spokane area. He also loved to tinker in his shop, and really enjoyed a huge, affordable garage sale. Known by his friends as “Crazy Bob,” he always had a joke ready. When asked how he was doing, he would always say, “Finer than a frog hair split down the middle and curled up on both ends.” Of everything Robert did, his wife, children, his faithful “boys,” and spending time with family and friends were his top priority. Robert is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Nickie Hardin of Walla Walla, WA, and twins Jami Harris and Jyll Turner of Everett; brother, David A. Harris, wife Debbie and their sons, Duncan and Derrick of Kenai, AK; sister, Sharon Carlson of Kenai, AK, and her daughter Jenna Lee Link of Post Falls, ID; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews; and his faithful “boys,“ 2K (12 years), Peanut Butter (3.5 years), and Chewie (3 years). He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. & Irene Harris; grandparents, Archie T. and Stella Cheney; grandson, Anthony; and nephew, Trey. Sandra and the family would like to thank Virginia Mason Oncology, Dr. Rosales, Providence St. Peter Hospital - 3rd Floor( entire) Staff and Dr. Griffith for sharing theirknowledge, compassion, strength and courage. To all the numerous family and friends who visited and supported Robert and Sandra during his stay, your compassion and caring spirits were very much appreciated. Please leave memories of Robert or condolences for the familyl in the Guestbook below.
