Linda Ann Long

Linda Ann Long Linda Ann Long, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2013. She was born March 26, 1950 to Kenneth and Ardella Venable in Olympia, Washington where she grew up and lived her entire life. She married Donald Long July 28, 1967 at McCord Air Force Base. She was a homemaker from a very young age, taking care of her siblings after her father’s death and also her husband’s younger siblings when he was in the Air Force and went to Vietnam. She prided herself on being a caregiver and always said it was very rewarding. The most important things to Linda were her family and her friends. She was always there for anyone who needed her, taking in many people and caring for them until they could get back on their feet. She was known as the “Kool-aid” mom because she always opened her home to all of the children in the neighborhood. She loved to garden and do yard work and cook. She made quilts for every baby born into the family and for friends’ families. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and at home when they were with her, which led to many lifelong friendships. Linda is survived by her husband, Donald Long of Olympia; her children, Jeremy and Melissa Long, Arlyn and Phaedra Long, all of Tenino; two grandchildren, Jaden Miller and Autumn Long; and her brothers, Dan and Steve Venable, both of Olympia. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
