John "Jack" William Bies
November 29th, 1926 - August 28th, 2014
John William Bies "Jack" Jack was born November 29, 1926 in Montrose, SD to Edward and Mary (Fleming) Bies. He joined our Heavenly Father on August 28, 2014 in SeaTac, WA surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded by his wife of 44 years, Clara Mae (Beam) June 21, 1952 - September 27, 1996. He is survived by his four sons, Robert (Susan), David, Tom (Debbie), and Michael (Carla) ; brother, Jerry; 9 grandchildren, Beau, Sean, Danielle, Jacob, Kelly, Brian, Michelle, Matthew, Daniel and a host of family and friends. Jack served in the Navy during WWII. Graduated from South Dakota State, Brookings SD, with a Batchlors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Jack was the first person in his family to go to college and made sure his son's had the same opportunity. Retired from Boeing after working 30 years for the company. He then worked at the Highline School District for another 20 years. Jack began volunteering at a very young age in Montrose both at his beloved church, St Patrick's, and also the American Legion. Jack loved the sport of baseball, played when he was young ,and went on to coach championship teams for many years in Seattle. Memorial Mass to be celebrated 4:30 PM Wednesday September 3, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 15226 21st Avenue SW, Burien, WA.
