Eileen McEwen of Seattle, WA passed away Sunday December 19, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Des Moines, WA due to complications from Alzheimer’s. Eileen was born September 23rd, 1947 in Hoople, ND to Alfred and Gudrun (Anderson) Oberg and was later raised around White Center WA, graduating from Chief Sealth high school. She worked for the Seattle School District as a cook from 1978 to 1996. In her leisure she loved being outdoors, esp. at her sister’s farm in Olalla, Wa. In 2004 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She lived with her sister Dorothy for 3 years, and then with her daughter Michele 2 months prior to her passing. Eileen is survived by her daughter Michele Lorella of Des Moines, Wa, son Shaun McEwan of SeaTac, Wa and her sister Dorothy Peterson of Olalla, Wa. She also had grandchild and extended family that she loved very much: Niko, Tyler, and Brianna Lorella of Des Moines, WA, Merissa and Aminah McEwan of Seattle, WA, and Zach Stamborsky of Seattle, WA, in addition to many nieces and nephews. Eileen was loved by all, touched so many peoples hearts and will be dearly missed. A gathering will be held in her honor at First Lutheran Church of West Seattle - 4105 California Avenue S.W. Seattle, Wa. 98116 at 1:00 PM January 8th 2011.
