Irene Mae Buffington

Irene Mae (Sandy) Buffington, 89, passed away at Good Sam Hospital on October 14, 2012, after a brief illness. Sandy loved fishing, hunting, & gardening, and in her later years enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and overseas. Sandy excelled in her chosen field as a sprayer in several furniture factories in Tacoma up until her retirement in 1978. She was preceded in death by her parents Verne and Leona Buffington and 3 brothers. Survived by her loving family: sisters Alberta and LaVonne and brother, Dick, nieces Marland (with whom she resided with in Spanaway, WA), and Judy Henson and Barb McGrew of Marshalltown, Iowa. She will be missed dearly by her beloved dog, Peaches. Edwards Memorial 30005 Bridgeport Way W. in University Place is handling Sandy’s Cremation.. Please join us Sunday Oct. 21 @ 2:00pm, to reminisce and share in the celebration of Sandy’s life at “Elmer’s Restaurant” 7427 S. Hosmer St., Tacoma. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Marshalltown, IA.
